A member asked:

What is the likelihood of an iud going thru the uterine wall? or is getting my tubes tied a better option?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends : Any physician can perforate the uterus during iud insertion for a variety of reasons. Ask your doctor how often he/she inserts them. You want someone with good experience. In addition it is more likely to happen with severe uterine flexion and other uterine anomalies. But iuds are easily reversible and tubals are not.
