A member asked:

I have previously had stevens jonson syndrome it is safe to take meloxicam 7 .5mg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Seek an alternative: There is an increased risk of stevens-johnson syndrome in persons using cox-2 inhibitors like Meloxicam (mobic). If you can use a cox-1 nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent instead. Stevens-johnson syndrome is a terrible allergic reaction to medication & can even be life-threatening. Once is enough. Discuss your valid concerns with your physician and use Meloxicam only if it is your best choice.
