You are right: You are correct, acne skin can be so severely scarred that it loses the ability to sweat. Good luck from nyc.

Scar damages sweat: Although acne originates in the sebaceous glands of the skin and sweat is produced by apocrine glands that are distinctly different. Recurrent scar tissue may damage the sweat glands.
