Should be seen: He should be seen by his doctor. He may have an infection. The most common type of mouth infection can cause blisters and ulcers in the mouth which make it very painful to eat or drink. When this happens, young children can easily get dehydrated. Another possibility would be strept throat, but your doctor would need to check him to find out.
