How long does it take to get over a thoracic strain, and is it normal to still be having severe burning pain after almost 5 weeks of injury?

Should be improving: If you are still having pain after that long you really should be examined a typical strain will heal over 4-6 weeks if you give it some rest. You want to make sure you don't have any thing else going on which may be causing your pain.

If purely muscular : In nature, usually 6-8 weeks depending on your age, underlying physical conditioning and health.
