No such thing: There is no such thing as localized chemo for throat cancer. Localized treatment for throat cancer would be in the form of radiation or surgery. In head and neck cancer, chemo is given intravenously as a systemic treatment- not as an injection directly to the cancer. I don't know if injecting chemo to the mass directly will be beneficial. For sure, it will make it bleed and risk for infection.

No: Throat cancer in early stages can be treated successfully with radiation therapy. Chemotherapy alone is not indicated. In more advanced throat cancer we use chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
