How long should a foot fracture disable a person?

Depends: Which bone? How bad a fracture? Was it surgically fixed? Fasted? All these variables come into play...

Disable???: It really depends on what bone (or bones) were broken, and the severity. A lot has to do with what soft tissue may have been damaged based on the mechanism of the fracture. Most people get along well without being "disabled." you may be inconvenienced to varying degrees though.

Depends: Depends on what bone was fractured, how severe the fracture was & how it was treated.

Get follow up x-rays: You should avoid direct weight bearing until you have significant radiographic signs of healing. Bone healing usually takes about 4-8 weeks.
