Perhaps: If your kids are allergic to cats it would be the sensible thing to do. My children were allergic to cats so we kicked the cat outdoors. We let her sleep in the garage. Both the kids & the cat were unhappy at first. Ultimately the kids were healthier and the cat was happier living outdoors.
