A member asked:

Will betadine douche cause delay or no menstruation for the month? i have missed period for the month and not pregnant...

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: A douche only rinses liquid into the vagina (doesn't get into the uterus), and should not affect the menstrual cycle. Normal healthy women can have a delayed or missed cycle once in a while, so a call to the primary care or ob-gyn doctor can help. The doctor may advise to just wait for the next cycle, or may ask one to go in for an evaluation, depending on one's medical history and other symptoms.
