May not be in pelvis: The OB provider who did the exam knows not only dilatation and effacement (thinness) of the cervix but also station of the presenting part. It might be that the fetal part is not even in the pelvis yet so concerns about size might not be warranted. It could be rather that the baby is in some position other than head first. A patient should ask for input after an ultrasound or exam by OB physician.
