Nerve pain: Shooting pain without bearing weight sounds like nerve involvement. Possibly nerve entrapment.

Arch problem: The pain can be caused by a biomechanical fault. You need x-rays to address your problem. Your foot is pronating and this could cause pain from over compensation.
