No: This isn't a good idea -- it's very hard to accurately divide the inner contents. Doses could be erratic. Keeping the capsules intact is even more imperative with the weekly delayed-release form of prozac (fluoxetine). If you need smaller doses, your physician can help you with differently written prescriptions. If you need smaller increments than are generally manufactured, compounding pharmacies can help.

Prozac (fluoxetine): The daily capsule can be dissolved in liquid in a measuring cup, use half and keep the other half in the frig. For next dose. Consult with your doctor to make sure it is ok.
