Is medicine making a strides against breast cancer?

Every day!: Tremendous inroads are being made in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer. Newer imaging modalities (digital tomograms, 3-d ultrasound) may help us find cancers earlier. We can now rx some cancers w/short courses of radiation therapy rather than 7 weeks. New molecular genomic tests can allow us to target chemotherapy much more effectively. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes: Extensive research is ongoing, treatment options are changing frequently as new information becomes available, and cellular and dna testing has begun to individualize the treatments for breast cancer for each person's own specific type of cancer.
