A member asked:

How can a social worker intervene to prevent diseases from occurring (health promotion-disease prevention)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevention: Have you heard the statement, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"? The social worker has the ability to help inform you of healthier health practices that can, if followed, improve your ability to prevent disease. And help you to have a better quality of life. Social workers are a great benifit to many people if only people will listen and apply their reccomendations.
