How might i ween myself off of opiates and painkillers?

Best to get help: People who are determined enough can slowly decrease their daily dose and eventually stop taking painkillers. But i urge you to consult a pain mgmt specialist to help you figure out the best plan. Physical therapy, nerve blocks, non-opiate pain meds, and other options may make it much easier for you to succeed. Make sure that the reason for your pain has been diagnosed and treated. Good luck!

Buprenorphine?: Instead of doing it by yourself, you might want to consider consulting an addiction specialist about using buprenorphine. Also consider attending narcotics anonymous.

Buprenorphine helps: Buprenex (buprenorphine) is useful. Weaning yourself may be challenging. Consult your physician about using Buprenorphine for detoxification and/or maintenance. You might also consider attending a meeting of narcotics anonymous.
