Best to get help: People who are determined enough can slowly decrease their daily dose and eventually stop taking painkillers. But i urge you to consult a pain mgmt specialist to help you figure out the best plan. Physical therapy, nerve blocks, non-opiate pain meds, and other options may make it much easier for you to succeed. Make sure that the reason for your pain has been diagnosed and treated. Good luck!
