Loose tone: The infant with Down syndrome will usual have loose tone, very flexible joints and be delayed in sitting and walking. They usually scoot rather than crawl. Their develop can improve rapidly with good directed play. They usually have problems chewing and swallowing with frequent coughing and chocking. But this will also improve with time. Speech is slow and difficult.
