Pain medication: It really boils down to what the patient can tolerate. They make liquid forms of most medications if needed. Typically a narcotic combination medication would be given such as hydrocodone/acetaminophen or coding/acetaminophen. Sometimes patients can get by with just an anti-inflammatory such as motrin.
