Vitamin A: Vitamin a is the most significant. Most prenatal vitamins have lower amounts of vitamin a, as high doses of vitamin a can cause birth defects. Also be aware of anti-aging creams, as most of those have retinoic acid or isotretinoin. If you want to see what high levels of vitamin a can do to a developing fetus, search Accutane and birth defects. Vit a is required in pregnancy, consult your obgyn.
