Avoid cutting 4-6 mo: Most surgeons recommend against a return to full cutting and contact sports until 4-6 months after surgery. Only then has adequate time passed to allow for adequate quadriceps strength and knee motion to return along with adequate maturation of the graft that was used to reconstruct the torn acl.
