What happens if cancer metastasis to the lungs?

Tumors can: Go to the lung substance, or to the lining of the chest cavity. As the tumor expands or fluid accumulates, it crowds out the abilty of the lung to do its job, and shortness of breath, oxygen starvation occurs. Removing fluid, and treating with systemic therapy can slow progresson.
