Not uncommon: When we are out at night, our pupils dilate and focusing is more difficult. Near sight people are often more nearsighted at night while far sighted people can see better at night without their glasses. Several medical conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration have visual symptoms that worsen under poor lighting conditions.
