A member asked:

Back pain when bending backwards after bending forwards?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Facet: Many reasons for back pain, and diagnosing facet pain is not that easy, but as a kind of a rule, pain with bending forwards tends to imply the "disc" being a source, whereas pain bending backwards tends to come from the facets, or joints that connect the spine. This rule can vary quite a bit however, so see a physiatrist.
