If there is still minor swelling a week after a cortisone injection for a meniscus tear, has the treatment attempt failed?

Hard to say: A meniscal tear will not heal, but a cortisone shot may help decrease the swelling sometime it takes a week or so to have the swelling go down realistically the onlly way to cure the problem is to do an arthroscopic meniscectomy.
