A few possibilities.: Optimal treatment of a UTI includes identification of the bacteria, determining which antibiotics it is susceptible to, and undergoing a full course of treatment. If treatment fails, the anitbiotic might be inappropriate, the bacteria resistant, the dose or duration of therapy inadequate, or a complicating factor such as a foreign body or stone is present. Get evaluated with a urine culture.
