It depends: Looking at all patients the number is between 5 and 15 percent. However everyone heals differently so the number can vary. Many patients with larger prescriptions and higher astigmatism are more likely to need an enhancement.

It may be needed in as little as several weeks, or up to years later. Ask the surgeon at your evaluation what his/her enhancement rate is for individuals with prescriptions similar to yours.
