It depends: Looking at all patients the number is between 5 and 15 percent. However everyone heals differently so the number can vary. Many patients with larger prescriptions and higher astigmatism are more likely to need an enhancement.

Varies by doctor: Depending on the surgeon, laser platform and your prescription prior to laser vision correction, there may be the need for an enhancement at some point after surgery. It may be needed in as little as several weeks, or up to years later. Ask the surgeon at your evaluation what his/her enhancement rate is for individuals with prescriptions similar to yours.
