Hoffa's syndrome: Due to trauma or altered biomechanics or wear and tear inflammation, the anterior fat pad of your knee gets pinched between the femoral condyle and the kneecap. Treatment is usually conservative at first (rest, ice, nsaids, pt), but sometimes surgery is done when conservative treatment fails.
