No: Trauma can cause retinal macular trauma such as choroidal rupture, hemorrhage and detachment. Macular degeneration in the traditional sense is caused by aging.

Nope: One can get macular damage that could look like the end stage of macular degenration and have the same symptoms, nut they are 2 separate diseases.
