A member asked:

Can a person with epilepsy be permitted to drive a vehicle if she is taking her meds?

Yes: Each state has regulations concerning this issue. Most require at least 6 months of documented control of seizures. This must be confirmed by medical evaluation. Medication use and levels just need to be confirmed and documented by a competent physician.

Possibly: Check the driving license laws in your state, since the criteria can vary. Usually an applicant's doctor has to verify that he/she has been seizure-free for between 3-12 months. Check out http://www.Ilae-epilepsy.Org, an advocacy organization.
