Actually some places: Charge a lot for an ultrasound. At my facility the out of pocket price is 500 dollars for an mri. A patient who came to me for an MRI had an ultrasound done at her local hospital and her co pay was 600 dollars. So in this case the MRI was way cheaper than her ultrasound.
