How can you tell the difference in hemorrhoids and anal cancer?

Examine: See a doctor for an examination. Hemorrhoids are soft purplish veins under the skin. Anal cancer is a rare condition and would be a firm process in or on the surface of the anal skin. Might be difficult to see on your own self examination.
