Stress can cause: Persistent twitching of your eyelid can mean your nervous system is on high alert. I've seen this in some of my patients experiencing anxiety & stress. But, any irritation of the conjunctiva or cornea can cause the eyelids to twitch also. And if it never calms down at all, it can be a sign of certain neurological problems.
