Yes: Aspirin has, in most populations, been shown to decrease the likelihood of a heart attack by preventing platelets from sticking together and forming clots which create the heart attack in the first place. More importantly, at the time of a heart attack, chewing and then swallowing 325 mg of Aspirin dramatically reduces the risk of dying from that heart attack.
