Claritin, (loratadine) Zyrtec : Most antihistamines are safe in breast feeding. Best to use non-sedating ones like Claritin or clarinex. Or you can also use zyrtec. These last longer than benadryl (diphenhydramine). Recommend taking the medication immediately after breastfeeding and at your longest interval of feeding. Sedating antihistamines may cause your infant to be drowsy since a small amount passes through the breast milk.
