Diarrhea May Persist: Vomiting is typically prominent early in illness followed by diarrhea. Avoid high sugar fluids like milk and juice while having diarrhea. Try to eat high calorie diet while avoiding high fat, spicy/acidic foods. It can take several days to rebuild the gut lining and see complete resolution of the diarrhea. Probiotics can be used to restore normal gut flora and sometimes shorten course of diarr.
