Many Causes: There are many types of aneurysms. Most publicized are aortic aneurysms and cerebral or brain aneurysms; however, they can occur in just about any artery. They are a weakening of the wall of the artery, causing the it to bulge out. They can be due to injury or infection, but most simply form spontaneously without warning. Depending on location, rupture can be fatal. Smoking is a risk factor.

Aneurysm Cause: Aneurysms are weakened areas of blood vessels where the walls balloon or bulge out. It can be an inherited disease caused by weakened connective tissue fibers within the blood vessel wall or can result from degeneration of blood vessels over time due to smoking use, hypertension, vasculitis, or other conditoins. Yes, they can be fatal when they rupture & bleed and therefore they are dangerous.
