A member asked:

What happens during a gum surgery for a fistula?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on fistula: Typically a fistula is a draining tract (stream) usually from infection. If this is the case they would be wanting to get to the source of infection, remove it then close up the area they needed, to open, to access the infection.
