is triamcinolone acetonide cream effective to treat foot/nail fungus?

No: It is a steroid cream not an antifungal. Also, steroid creams should be used judiciously as they do carry side effects and hence should not be used indiscriminantly.

Yes & no: It is effective for athletes foot fungus but does not work well on toenail fungus.

Triamcinolone will not resolve the fungal infection but it can certainly reduce some of the inflammation that can go along with it. Sometimes combination meds that have an antifungal agent along with a steroid can be used successfully. Topical steroids will not resolve a fungal infection of the nails.
