The best screening..: ...For appropriate development in a two year old is regular scheduled visits with a good pediatrician. A pediatrician is an expert in child development and knows how to recognize the proper achievement of milestones. If the child does not appear to be developing appropriately, then the pediatrician can get the appropriate "best test" for that particular child's developmental issue.

See below: The bayley scales of infant development early on and the differential abilities scales starting at 2 1/2 are two of many standardized tests. If you suspect dd in a child <3, you can ask for a referral to an early intervention program; 3-5, ask for child find through your local school district.
