Serious issues: I am guessing that you mean the pupillary opening has become white (as the sclera should be white in any case). This could be from cataract advancement, internal eye pressure elevation, and certain corneal problems. There are some rarer issues as well. You should see your pediatric ophthalmologist without delay to analyze this which sounds serious.
