Cannot tell: If one is trying to get pregnant, just keep having sex. One week after missing a period, do a urine pregnancy test from the drugstore. The tests are very accurate. If irregular spotting and bleeding happens off and on, making it hard to tell when a real period is happening, an ob-gyn doctor can help sort things out and also do a pregnancy test.
