Breaks: Have a good computer setup, appropriate screen brightness and font size, proper vision correction with enough breaks to rest your eyes.

Rest: Our eyes are designed to see things in 3d. When you look at a computer/book etc for a long time (a 2d surface) you can strain your eyes or get dry eyes. Every 20 minutes rest your eyes for 20 seconds by looking at something at least 20 feet away.

Refraction lubricate: First make sure that you have the proper refraction. At age 45, patients may start to develop presbyopia, the need for glasses to focus close-up. When you use your computer your blink rate will be reduced. This will contribute to dry eye. If your eyes feel scratchy after using your computer for a while i would suggest a lubricating drop prior to and during computer use.
