If my girlfriend has post-traumatic stress? what are some ways to treat it?

Psychotherapy: It's important to treat ptsd, and the best way is to seek out a psychotherapist who is experienced in helping people recover from traumatic events. I've found emdr to be a useful technique, but other methods are also useful.
