A member asked:

Is there any risk for getting lead poisoning by drinking out of the cup?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on situation: Lead poisoning requires some source of lead that can be transferred to the individual. Some ceramic glazing or decorations contain lead & ingestion of fluids or food from these products may transfer lead to the consumer. Most of these products are sold as decorative pieces only. Some ethnic medications are tainted by lead & consumption from any vessel could bring toxic effects.
