Weak/tired/pain: Several possibilities come to mind, from anemia to infection to medication effects. Best to consult ob/gyn to discuss bcp or other remedies.

Hormones, Procedure: Heavy flows can be remedied relatively easily with the birth control pill, and iud, a medication called lysteda, or, for example a simple procedure called endometrial ablation. The procedure should only be done if you are finished having children and ideally have a permanent form of birth control on board. Of course, your gyn should check that all is ok first with a sono, and some labs.

Protection: You can see your doctor for medications like Lysteda or hormones to lighten your period. Otherwise you can use tampons, pads, instead cup or diva cup to prevent leakage. Or you can double up - wear 2 pads and a tampon. Some people even wear adult diapers.
