Bleeding more than once after stopping "depo shots" may reflect endometrial shedding not related to ovulation. If you are not pursuing pregnancy at this time, a switch to oral bcp's may be appropriate. Your menstrual functions will usually resume to that experienced prior to using depo shots for contraception.
