Ginger/ honey tea: Saltwater gargles are very helpful. Mix a teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle with this several times a day. You can gargle with aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mixture of chamomile tea with honey & a small amount of lemon juice is good. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced organic ginger. Steep for at least five minutes in a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs of honey & sip.

Strep or not ???: If it is not strep A ( determined by testing), comfort measures like honey & lemon juice, gargling with salty water, throat sprays, etc. all help. Even strep would gradually improve in most without other treatment. If strep hasn't been ruled out by testing you risk giving it to anyone in your circle of contacts. The risk of rheumatic fever or heart/kidney & brain complications runs as high as 1%
