4 months old girl. choking. 2 episodes of resp arrest. cpr involved. eeg ok. cxr ok. blood test ok. it's not reflux. ecg ok. still in hosp. please help.?

ALTE: Alte (apparent life threatening event) is an acute, unexpected change in an infant's breathing behavior associated with apnea( no respiratory effort ), color change ( cyanotic or pallid), marked change in muscle tone & choking. Only half of the cases, cause (s) is found, e.g., gastroesophageal reflux, seizure. There is no causal relationship between alte and sudden infant death syndrome.

Problem swallowing??: This story may be consistant with a defect in swallowing.Leading to choking episodes.Make sure you see a specialist and consider tests such as cookie swallow to assess this.
