Have it checked: There is a range of things that this could be, depending on the exact location on your lip, duration, etc. You should see your health care provider for possible referral to an ENT (otolaryngologist) doctor or oral maxillofacial surgeon to have it examined. It sounds like a hematoma, vascular malformation, or pigmented lesion, and it should be seen.

It doesn't sound STD: What you describe is most likely a traumatic mucosal cyst. Not cancerous, not an std. Please see your doctor for proper exam and diagnosis.
