Bruising: Breast engorgement is not normal unless a woman is nursing. If nursing and then trauma to the breast by walking into something, those breast cells will be like they are internally bruised and can be expected to hurt for up to 10 days. If persistent pain, worsening pain or growing redness, those are reasons to be evaluated.
