Do lazy eye exercises correct amblyopia?

Not really: Eye exercises help to align the eyes in cases of mild strabismus. If the alignment is sufficiently incorrect then glasses, patching and even surgery may be necessary.

No: Amblyopia is corrected by forcing the brain to use the weak eye more (not prune neural connections) -- so make the image sharper or remove double.

Only in the young: Amblyopia is a condition in which an eye which is otherwise normal, sees less well. It is almost always caused by some eye malposition or refractive differencies between the two eyes in infancy and early childhood. The pattern of amblyopia becomes fixed if not treated by age 8 years. After that, exercises, etc. Cannot correct the condition.
